Jibrin Gambo, PhD
Program Manager & Technical Lead, Environment

Dr. Jibrin Gambo is a geospatial scientist, environmental researcher, and development practitioner serving as Program Manager and Technical Lead for Environmental Resilience and Sustainability at Unik Impact Foundation. In this role, he provides overall leadership and coordination for all Foundation programs across Health, Education, Livelihoods, Gender, and Environment, while providing technical depth on climate adaptation and ecosystem restoration.

Dr. Gambo is the Founder & CEO of DunesGIS Tech Limited and holds a PhD in Geospatial Engineering and an MSc in Remote Sensing & GIS from Universiti Putra Malaysia. His research and fieldwork focus on flood-risk mapping, land degradation, groundwater assessment, drought monitoring, and the link between environmental change and human wellbeing in Northern Nigeria.

At the community level, Dr. Gambo translates science into action. He is the Founder of the Baturiya Wetland Conservation Volunteers, a grassroots initiative promoting community participation in wetland protection and biodiversity conservation. He has also contributed to enterprise development programs including LINKS and Mafita under Adam Smith International.

At Unik Impact, Dr. Gambo ensures programs are evidence-based, integrated, and deliver measurable impact. He brings expertise in GIS, program management, M&E, and community engagement to strengthen the Foundation’s capacity to serve vulnerable populations.
