“If a Muslim plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person or an animal eats from it, it is regarded as a charitable gift (sadaqah) for him.”
Prophet Muhammad PBUH
Jigawa State is among the three states worst hit by desertification in Nigeria
Desertification is a leading cause of water shortages, drought, poor crop yield, rising food prices, conflicts over water and grazing areas, migration and worsening poverty
In it’s commitment to multiply life opportunities to as many, the Unik Impact Foundation distributed thousands of improved seedlings of mahogany and mango trees to community based organisations (CBOs) and individuals in Gumel and Hadeja towns of Jigawa State to help combat the scourge desertification
Gumel Community Initiative for Clean and Green Environment (GCICGE) got 300 of improved mahogany trees, while Hadejia Green & Environmental Project had the same amount of mahogany in addition to 200 of improved mango seedlings
