In response to the devastating floods that hit Jigawa State in September 2022, Unik Impact Foundation provided critical embarkment support tools to frontline communities, empowering them to protect their surroundings and mitigate the impact of the disaster. The intervention included the distribution of essential resources such as sandbags, shovels, dry sand, wood for emergency bridges, and food supply for volunteers to dozens of communities across six Local Government Areas across the State.

The provision of these tools enabled communities to construct temporary barriers, reinforce existing structures, and create safe passage, ultimately reducing the risk of flood-related damage and displacement. By supporting physical embarkment measures, Unik Impact Foundation aimed to enhance climate resilience, reduce vulnerability, promote community-led adaptation strategies, and demonstrates the value of community-centered climate resilience initiatives.
