Little Isma’ila Yusuf Rano’s picture sitting beside his makeshift carton box shop raptured the internet sometimes in Septmeber 2020. The symbolism of the pretty image wasn’t lost on millions; he aspires to be a big trader. This immediately melted hearts. It was interpreted to mean big dreams in a society where millions of children his age are out of school who roam the streets as beggers. Meanwhile, the donations poured in from various interests all in the form of cash to expand his business.

However, Unik Impact Foundation decided to do something unique. It offered him funding for his education in primary through secondary school to drive home the primacy of education in unlocking Isma’ila’s full geniuses. Coming from the same state as the world’s richest blackkman, the Foundation hopes he lavarages knowledge to grow into another huge business success.

Isma’ila Yusuf, a.k.a Isma’ila dan kasuwa Rano (i.e., Isma’ila, the business man from Rano) is now in secondary school under the active and conscious supervision of our local community volunteer, Samira Usman Adam. Ms. Samira (https://www.facebook.com/sammyranoh?mibextid=ZbWKwL) is an important community resource and influencer who understands the power of dialogue in development efforts.
